Whether you're growing in pots or a garden bed, everything you need is in the box:

• 6 bare-root strawberry crowns — Camarosa and Ventana, picked for juicy summer fruit

• "Soil Food" compost, 1L — all-natural, manure-based compost to settle the crowns in

• "Strawberry Magic" fertiliser, 1L — pre-blended, one feed in spring, when flower buds are forming (before they open), for sweeter berries

• A comfy bed of strawberry mulch — keeps roots cool and weeds out

Planting is simple: these are dormant bare-root crowns, so they go in now,
over winter, to build strong roots before spring. Sit each crown on a low
mound of soil so it never sits wet, spread the roots down the sides, and
firm it in with the crown — the leafy centre — just above the soil. Space
them 25–30cm apart, tuck the mulch in around them, and water in well. Ten minutes, and your summer self is already grateful.
