Soil Food
Full of goodness, it's used on all our test beds. This blend nourishes soil by improving structure, aiding water retention and providing nutrients. It boosts plants' production and health in a sustainable way.
Natural ingredients like manure are combined and processed using the heat compost method. We package and bag on demand to ensure the compost isn't sitting around are arrives in the best condition possible.
Designed for topping up around the bases of plants without having leftovers degrade in the shed.
Soil Mulch
Keep moisture in, weeds out, and your living soil thriving. Our locally sourced pea straw is a premium mulch for vegetable beds, fruit trees, and ornamental borders. As it breaks down, it adds organic matter and returns a little nitrogen to the soil—supporting vigorous, healthy growth.
"A little often" is the key to a thriving garden. Our Soil Mulch is portioned (~500g) to establish ~1M2 or top up ~2M2.
Why gardeners choose pea straw
-
Locks in soil moisture to reduce watering and protect plants in hot, dry spells.
-
Suppresses weeds by blocking light at the soil surface.
-
Insulates roots against temperature swings (hot and cold).
-
Feeds the soil as it breaks down—adding organic matter and a small amount of nitrogen.
-
Encourages soil life (worms, microbes) for a healthy, living-soil ecosystem.
How to use
-
Prepare: Remove large weeds. Water the bed thoroughly.
-
Apply: Spread pea straw 5–10 cm deep around plants, keeping a small gap around stems.
-
Top up: Replenish as it settles over the season to maintain coverage.
-
Veggie beds & perennials: Ideal around seedlings, tomatoes, berries, fruit trees, roses, and shrubs.
